If you have a problem with your water/sewer service after business hours, on a holiday, or over the weekend, please contact the Giles County Sheriff's Department at 540-921-3842, and they will contact an employee of the Town of Rich Creek's Public Works Department promptly to address the problem and/or concern.

During business hours, contact the Town Office at 540-726-3260 or by email at townofrichcreek@richcreek.org.

NOTICE TO CONSUMERS

of the Town of Rich Creek Waterworks

Waterworks ID No. 1071700

We have been advised by State health officials of a failure to perform required monitoring in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia/State Board of Health Waterworks Regulations.

We are required to monitor your drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis. Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not our drinking water meets health standards. During the monitoring period of August 2024, we did not monitor for total trihalomethanes and haloacetic acids and therefore, cannot be sure of the quality of our drinking water during that time.

State health officials feel there is little need for concern about the safety of your water because past records show that our system has had no documented problems with total trihalomethanes and haloacetic acids contamination; however, routine sampling and analysis is required to determine the quality of water delivered to our customers.

There is nothing you need to do at this time.

We plan to collect the samples for analysis by August 2025.

CURBSIDE BRUSH COLLECTION

The Town of Rich Creek will offer brush collection to Town Residents.

Rules

You must call the Town Office (540-726-3260) to arrange pick-up, before placing by the curb.
Brush cannot be larger than 3 inches in diameter.
Brush must be stacked going the same direction. (See picture)
No more than one pickup load per month.

The Rich Creek Planning Commission will meet on Thursday, March 13,

2025 at 5:30 PM to review the codes regarding chickens/fowl within the

corporate limits, manufactured homes & foundation requirements.

Notice of Public Hearing- Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding information

The Town of Rich Creek will hold a public hearing on Monday, March 17,

2025 at 6:00 PM at 250 Old Virginia Avenue to solicit public input in regard to
utilization of potential funding from Community Development Block Grant

(CDBG) funding for the Urgent Need program for Hurricane Helene Impacted

Communities.

The goal is to present identified projects and receive public input on additional potential projects. This will be one of two Public Hearings to
determine which projects will be presented for possible approval.

All interested citizens are urged to attend. For additional information, contact Richard Cox, Town Manager at (540) 726-3260 or via email at rcox@richcreek.org. Comments may also be submitted in writing to Richard Cox, Town Manager, Town of Rich Creek at P.O. Box 65, Rich Creek, VA 24147 until March 14, ,2025 at 4:00 PM. The next regular meeting of the Rich Creek Town Council will be held on

MONDAY, April 14, 2025 at 6:00 PM, at the Rich Creek Municipal Building

in Council’s Chambers, located at 250 Old Virginia Avenue, Rich Creek.
